Absentee è una band di Londra che il 22 settembre 2008 ha fatto uscire per la Memphis Industries il loro secondo lavoro Victory Shorts.
La canzone "Boy Did She Teach You Nothing?", video sopra, è il primo singolo estratto del nuovo album.
Il gruppo è formato da Dan Michaelson (voce/chitarra), Melinda Bronstein (voce, tastiera), Babak Ganjei (chitarra/lap steel), Laurie Earle (basso) and Che Albrighton (batteria).
Le influenze musicali del nuovo lavoro sono diverse: Johnny Cash, Pavement, The Velvet Underground.
